The North Carolina Courage 2026 kit takes inspiration from the Venus flytrap, a plant native to the Carolinas and one of the region’s more unexpected symbols. Rather than illustrating it literally, the design pulls apart its distinctive forms into an all-over graphic, combining softer organic shapes with sharper, architectural forms. Deep Blue Void gives the pattern depth, while Vapor Green and pink reference the vivid colour of the flytrap itself. The outer pride features North Carolina’s state motto, Esse Quam Videri, meaning “to be rather than to seem.” Beautiful but predatory, the Venus flytrap embodies the idea perfectly: it doesn’t need to look dangerous to be dangerous. The bespoke sleeve knit takes the idea further, translating the flytrap’s sharp trap spikes into a tactile detail around the cuff.
